1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

When you create an InSki account, we collect information such as your name, email address, username, password, profile photo, and related details necessary to operate your account.

b. User Content

We collect and store ski clips, feed posts, comments, gear listings, trip details, and other content you upload to share with others. Content is displayed publicly to other users as part of the social experience.

c. Location Information

InSki uses location data to show nearby ski areas and to mark users as “At Location.” While your approximate area is processed, exact coordinates are not permanently stored. Location data may be gathered when the app is open (“when in use”) and, if ski tracking is enabled, continuously for the duration of your activity.

d. Device and Usage Data

We automatically collect technical information such as device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and in-app activity for security, analytics, and performance optimization.

e. Subscription and Payment Information

For InSki+ subscriptions and one-time purchases (such as the "Tip Jar"), payments are processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We do not collect or store full payment-card details; limited transaction identifiers may be retained for recordkeeping.

f. Communications

If you contact support or report content, we collect any information you provide in that correspondence.

To provide and maintain the Service and your account
To display your posts, ski clips, trips, and gear listings to others
To enable social interactions, comments, and friend/follow features
To show nearby ski areas and “At Location” activity
To process subscriptions and verify payments
To detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse
To send service updates and notifications
To improve performance and user experience through analytics

3. Sharing of Information

Public Sharing: Content you post (e.g., clips, comments, gear listings) is visible to other users.
Service Providers: Limited data may be shared with vendors who help operate the Service (hosting, analytics, push, payments).
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or users.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or sale, user data may be transferred in accordance with this Policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain user data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete your account at any time to request data removal, subject to limited retention for legitimate business or legal purposes.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Access and Correction: Review or update your account information within the app.
Delete Account: Delete your account through the app or by contacting us; content will be removed except as required by law.
Location Controls: Enable/disable location access in device settings.
Marketing Emails: Opt out of non-essential emails via the unsubscribe link.
Legal Rights (GDPR/CCPA): Depending on your jurisdiction, request access/correction/deletion/restriction at privacy@inski.app.

6. Children’s Privacy

InSki is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child has provided information, we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using InSki, you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside your own jurisdiction.

9. Links to Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrations such as Apple, Google, Stripe, or social networks. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before interacting with them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated version will be posted within the app or on our website and becomes effective upon posting. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
